I have been a RN in Obstetrical Health for almost 20 years. I knew I wanted to be in Womens health before I even graduated. My life and career have taken a path I didnt expect. I worked in area where almost all people had an epidural and I did not want one when I had my first child. I didnt have the support I needed and with the 2nd I learned the value of education and support. WOW it was amazing. Teaching became a passion for me. I realized how much power I could help women obtain over their own birth.
Breastfeeding has been a huge passion for me. I love helping the journey of parents to succeed. Sometimes a little help is all you need.

Hello Families!
My name is Emily Swann. I am, first and foremost, a wife and a mother. My daughter is 18 months old, and she keeps me plenty busy! On top of that, I am a Registered Nurse with experience in the NICU and Labor and Delivery, and now I am a Lactation Consultant. I have a Bachelor's Degree from UNCW in Nursing and am almost finished with a Master's Degree in Public Health Nutrition from App State. My career has been working with families, and my most sincere passion is for every mom who wishes to be able to breastfeed her baby. Breastfeeding my daughter took my career of caring for women and children and leveled it up to a desire to really make a difference in families during the early baby years. When I am not working or mothering or doing schoolwork, I am definitely outside. I was an avid outdoor rock climber before I became a mom but now will settle for a little rock climbing and more hiking. I look forward to getting to know you and your family as you start or add to your motherhood journey.
